Roof replacement for your home
A roof replacement starts with a free inspection and a straight answer: repair or replace. We replace roofs on homes, and you get a written estimate before you decide.
Repair or replace?
Not every worn roof needs replacing. Here are some signs you can check from the ground, without climbing up.
None of these settles it on its own. After the inspection, your estimator gives you a straight answer. If a repair will do the job, we'll say so.
- The roof is getting old, or you don't know its age
- Shingles that curl, crack, or are missing
- Granules collecting in gutters or at the bottom of downspouts
- Leaks that come back after they've been repaired
Materials, price, and warranty
Roofing materials we install
We install all the common residential roof types, including asphalt and architectural shingles, metal, tile, and low-slope or flat roofing.
Heat and hail
Your estimator explains how each option handles heat, wind, and hail, in plain terms, so you can compare.
What affects the price
Roof size and pitch, how many layers come off, decking repairs, the material you choose, and gutter and flashing work. Your written estimate lists each item.
Comparing estimates?
Check that each one spells out tear-off, decking (the wood under the shingles), underlayment, flashing (the metal at walls, chimneys, and vents), ventilation and cleanup, and how the warranty is put in writing.
Warranty
Our warranty is outlined in your contract, and once your project is complete, we send you a full packet outlining your project and warranties.
Gutters
A new roof is a good time to look at the gutters too. See gutters and gutter guards.
How a replacement runs
While the job runs, your project manager tells you what we need from you, what is scheduled, and what is still pending.
Inspect
Our team inspects the roof, free of charge, and takes photos.
Estimate
You get a written estimate. Once you approve it, your project manager schedules the work.
Build
We tear off the old roof, repair decking where needed, install the new roof, and clean up.
Review
Your project manager walks the finished job with you.
Replacing a roof after a storm
Hail and wind are common reasons for a new roof. The process stays the same: inspect, document, estimate.
We'll inspect, document the damage, and give you and your carrier our repair estimate. Your claim and your policy questions are between you and your insurer.
For the first steps after a storm, read our after-the-storm guide, or start with a free storm damage inspection. Replacing a roof on a commercial building? See commercial re-roofing and roof overs.
Roof replacement questions
How long does a roof replacement take?
The roof itself usually takes a day or two of work on site. The whole project, from scheduling to closeout, takes longer, and your project manager gives you a timeline. Weather, and what we find under the old roof, can change the schedule. Your project manager keeps you updated.
Do I need to be home while you work?
No, you don't need to be there for the install. Sometimes we'll ask you to be available so our subcontractors can assess the project.
Do I need a permit?
If the job needs a permit, we pull it. Have a question about your house? Ask when you request your free inspection.
